What you need to know

Here’s what makes it special:

  • Arrive early

15 minutes before class your instructor will Introduce you to the Megaformer, Explain key safety features , Show you how the springs work and Answer any questions.

A few extra minutes can make a huge difference to your first experience.

  • Grip Socks are mandatory

For every class you'll need comfortable activewear and grip socks (grip socks are also available to purchase at reception).

  • Bring a bottle of water & towel

Expect to get hot and sweat A LOT. It's important to bring water to stay hydrated throughout class.

  • Expect to shake

Don't worry, it's normal. It doesn't mean you're doing it wrong, It doesn't mean you're weak. It's simply your muscles working hard under tension. In fact it's a signature part of the Lagree experience

FAQs

Everything you need to know before your first Lagree class in Birmingham.

We recommend Alora Start, our foundations class designed for complete beginners. It uses the same method as every Alora class, with more time spent on the fundamentals: how to set up the machine, how to find the tempo and how to hold your form.

Arrive 15 minutes early so we can welcome you, show you around the studio and introduce you to the Megaformer. Your instructor will explain how the carriage and springs work and help you get set up before class begins.

That’s completely normal, and nobody expects you to. Lagree is challenging for everyone, whatever their fitness level. Your instructor will offer modifications throughout, and you can take a break whenever you need one. Every class gets easier as you learn the moves.

We recommend a light snack one to two hours before class, rather than a heavy meal. Make sure you’re well hydrated and bring a water bottle with you.

Probably, and that’s a good sign. Because Lagree works your muscles to fatigue, it’s common to feel soreness for a day or two afterwards, especially in your core and legs. Gentle movement, stretching and staying hydrated will help you recover before your next class.
